Slime Together
About:
A short game made within 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2021, following the theme of "Joined Together".
All code, art, and audio was created from scratch over the duration of the game jam.
It seems many are having trouble with level 3 and 4. I have added a solution for them at the bottom if you are stuck!
Controls:
A/D - Left/Right
Space - Jump
Esc/Tab - Pause

SPOILERS FOR LEVEL 3:
You want to split the big blue slime in two using the spike in the ceiling. Keep one small blue slime on the upper platform and the other one on the lower ground. Roll the small blue slime on the platform onto the button to unlock the bottom right area and both pink and blue slimes will be able to reach the flags!
SPOILERS FOR LEVEL 4:
The slimes can jump off of each other!
Run and jump with the blue slime towards the corner on the right. You want to try and get the blue slime above the pink slime so the pink slime can jump over the wall and combine with the other pink slime .
Once you have a big pink slime and big blue slime , you want the slime to jump on top of each other in the middle of the map so the slimes both stay suspended in the middle of the screen.
Then you want to roll the blue slime slightly to the left and pink slime slightly to the right and jump to reach the flags in the corner of the map!

Haha, really unique idea, and i love the art, but i have some points to maybe improve your game or things that could help you in future projects:
1. I noticed that you can only jump when you´re on grass. I don´t know if it´s intended like that, but just something i noticed.
2. The player is kind of left alone in the beginning, like, you don´t know what to do.
3. The music could be a bit longer, because you can clearly hear that it loops.
4. While the sound effects are funny, they get pretty annoying after some time.
Hope the feedback helped you, would be nice if you could check out my game "Square Pair" too. :)
Thanks for playing! Appreciate the good feedback, all very fair points! We agree next time we'll definitely spend more time on the music because we also got quite sick of it after hours of playtesting...
Some levels have some really good puzzle design! Only "Problem" was, I had my controller connect via usb, and so the keyboard inputs didn't register until I disconnected it
I really like the art and the gameplay.
The sound effects are hilarious :D
Too funny :D
Your game is fun, I love the looking of it. Funny enough, we have almost chosen the same name for our game.
level 4 seems impossible
it's possible with a running jump
I'm in the same boat. I can't complete level 4, despite joining the two purple slimes together.
So what you want to do is jump the two colors when big on top of each other and then you can jump again. It's a sneaky double jump of some sorts.
That's correct! Maybe it was a little more difficult than I had anticipated!
One thing I learned from making puzzle games:
Things that come to you naturally mostly don't come to naturally to your players.
But I love experimenting, so it was fine for me!
